Maryam is the Founder and Senior Advisor at Affirm Education where she has guided more than 500 students from around the world to gain admission to their best-fit universities including Ivy League institutions, top 40 U.S. schools, leading UCs and Oxbridge. Under her mentorship, students have earned prestigious scholarships, discovered their strengths and gained clarity in both their academic and personal paths.

Test Prep Tutor
Vishrut is an accomplished tutor specializing in SAT and ACT preparation. Inspired by his mother, an elementary school teacher whose passion for education shaped his own, he discovered a love for teaching early in life. As a high school junior, he achieved a perfect ACT score and has been tutoring ever since.
Over the years, Vishrut has helped numerous students reach and exceed their score goals, often unlocking potential they didn’t know they had. With a deep understanding of both exams and their scoring systems, he brings clarity, structure, and strategy to every session. His approach emphasizes proven test-taking techniques, confidence building, and critical thinking—skills that empower students not only for test day but for life beyond it.
Beyond tutoring, Vishrut is deeply engaged in academic and extracurricular excellence. He represented India at the Asia Pacific Linguistics Olympiad and was selected for the national training camp for the International Linguistics Olympiad. Yuechen Tao is a dedicated STEM and standardized test preparation tutor with more than five years of proven experience helping students excel academically. Holding a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering and having worked professionally as a civil engineer, she brings both technical expertise and practical problem-solving skills into the educational setting.
With a strong focus on standardized testing, Yuechen specializes in preparing students for the SAT, ACT, and GRE, equipping them with strategies to improve accuracy, efficiency, and confidence under exam conditions. In addition, Yuechen offers comprehensive tutoring across STEM disciplines, including physics, chemistry, and biology, as well as all levels of mathematics—ranging from foundational middle school courses through advanced college topics such as calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, and discrete mathematics.
Throughout her tutoring career, Yuechen has worked successfully with students from a wide variety of backgrounds and learning profiles, including those with ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and other learning differences. Chinonyerem is a dedicated tutor whose love for learning—and for helping others learn—started early. Raised by two educators, she grew up with a deep appreciation for patient guidance, clear communication, and the transformative moment when a student finally understands a new concept. She began tutoring classmates as a child and quickly discovered a natural ability to break down complex ideas into clear, approachable explanations.
She later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from New York University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with First Class Honours. Her rigorous academic training sharpened her analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities—strengths she brings directly into her ACT tutoring. Students benefit not just from her content mastery, but from her commitment to teaching the “why” behind every concept, building true understanding and confidence.
